Translator for ACTIAS

Euthrix potatoria aus der Familie der LasiocampidaeZähe Trinkerin

Die nachtaktiven Falter (die Weibchen sind dämmerungsaktiv) der Grasglucke (Euthrix potatoria) fliegen von Ende Juni bis Mitte August, die Raupen in verschiedenen unauffälligen Farbtönen findet man von September bis in den Juni des nächsten Jahres, also auch jetzt im Winter bei Schnee und Frost. Die Raupe überwintert im dritten Stadium (L3) auf Gräsern sitzend. Im Frühjahr fressen sie bis Mai und verpuppen sich dann in einem pergamentartigen Kokon, der mit Borsten bedeckt ist, an Grashalmen hängend. Das Bild stammt von Götz Nowack.
Warum heißt dieser Schmetterling auch Die Trinkerin, englisch Drinker Moth? Antwort: Die ebenfalls nachtaktiven Raupen sitzen tagsüber oben auf den Gräsern. Sie nehmen gut sichtbar regelmäßig Wassertropfen, vor allem Morgentau zu sich. Wer setzt das erste Bild einer trinkenden Raupe in die ACTIAS-Galerie?
